Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.


Author Guidelines

Abstract submissions must:

  1. State the central research question and the purpose of the research.
  2. Provide a brief discussion of the research methodology.
  3. State conclusions and significance.
  4. Be well organized.

Other formatting guidelines:

  1. Abstracts should be no more than 450 words in length.
  2. References are allowed within abstracts, but are not required. The Reference list does not count towards the word limit.
  3. If including images and/or figures, limit them to no more than one page in addition to the abstract text.

Have the following information available when submitting your abstract:

  1. Name and e-mail address for each faculty mentor and co-author
  2. Presentation type: oral, poster, exhibit or performance
  3. UVU Students: Include your IRB approval number, if needed.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. My faculty research mentor/s has/have approved this abstract for submission. If my faculty mentor is not a co-author, I understand that I am responsible for forwarding ALL UCUR-related emails to her/him.
  2. The abstract submission file is in PDF format.
  3. The abstract text is no longer than 450 words, excluding the reference list. If images and/or figures are included, they are limited to no more than one page in addition to the abstract text.
  4. The abstract adheres to the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  5. I am the/an author of the abstract I am submitting.
  6. I am prepared to indicate a presentation type: oral, poster, exhibit or performance.
  7. If I have co-authors, I am prepared to enter their names and emails addresses in the abstract submission form. If my faculty mentor is not a co-author, s/he has approved this abstract for submission, and I understand that I am responsible for forwarding ALL UCUR-related emails to my faculty mentor.

  8. UVU Students: If my project requires IRB approval, I have secured this approval and have provided my IRB approval number in the text of my abstract submission.

Authors who submit to this conference must agree to the following terms:

a) Authors retain copyright over their work, while allowing the conference to place this unpublished work under a Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows others to freely access, use, and share the work, with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and its initial presentation at this conference.

b) Authors are able to waive the terms of the CC license and enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution and subsequent publication of this work (e.g., publish a revised version in a journal, post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial presentation at this conference.

c) In addition, authors are encouraged to post and share their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) at any point before and after the conference.
